Since 1970, DYWIDAG has developed, tested, supplied, installed, inspected, monitored, maintained, repaired, and exchanged stay cables for cable-supported structures, including:

The research and development around DYWIDAG's stay cable systems combine the highest safety and reliability standards—with economic efficiency. The DYNA Grip® System, introduced in 2000, was designed to meet the needs of modern cable systems at the turn of the millennium—and is still in use today.  The standard DYNA Grip® System includes installation equipment and project-specific engineering with inspection and test plans, detailed method statements—and a comprehensive inspection and maintenance manual.

Our economical and high-performance stay cable systems reliably transfer the loads from the deck via the pylon to the foundation—and are long-lasting and easy to maintain.

Additional features can be added to the stay cables, depending on the project needs

  • Customized damper design with different types of dampers—such as external viscous damper or internal viscous, rubber, and friction damper

  • DYNA Link anchor box to avoid anchorages inside the pylon—and with full transfer of horizontal cable forces

  • Friction type saddles for continuous deviation of strands through the saddle—achieving a high friction resistance

  • Clevis anchorage with pin connection to gusset plates connected to the structure

  • Fire protection system for the free length and/or the anchorage for various protection times, limiting the maximum temperature of the cable to 300°C at a hydrocarbon fire of 1100°C

  • Anti-vandalism or blast protection systems as a one-part or two-part system—also as retrofitted systems on existing bridges to protect the cable against vandalism or terrorist attack

  • Cable illumination by LED systems—integrated into the outer HDPE pipe for aesthetic cables and proven in wind tunnel test campaigns

  • Passive and/or active deicing systems—mitigating the risk of falling ice

  • Integrated monitoring systems—contributing to the longevity of modern construction
